I had been a patient there since I moved to Austin about 10 years ago. I love Dr. Baylor and she was always an effective and attentive physician. The problem started when they moved to their new office.
All their records are electronic now, except, after contacting the technical staff, I was never able to receive communications with them regarding my care. To this day, I don't know anything about the results of my pap smears or anything related to my care. Every time I managed to get to a human, I was told the person in charge of technical problems, was not there.
Last year, I had to go back three times before I could see Dr. Baylor. The first time, they forgot to call me, but Dr. Baylor was attending to a delivery, they told me to come back later that day. When I got there, they said she was busy and I had to reschedule; I did, and I finally got to see her, except, I don't remember how long after the actual appointment.
The straw that broke the camel's neck was when I finally had to call in this year, because again, I could not access the site. The scheduler said that if I scheduled with Dr. Baylor's medical assistant, I would get in sooner. I said no, I would wait as long as necessary. I don't want to talk to a complete stranger. I have issues and questions, and I would like to speak to a person who knows my medical history about them. Preferably an MD.
Three months later, and by then I was late for my yearly appointment, I came into the office and a total stranger tells me she is there to see me. I said no, I am here to see Dr. Baylor; she says she is the medical assistant and that Dr. Baylor was too busy to see me. I said, I'm sorry, but I made it clear when I called, that I wanted to see Dr.
Baylor. She came back a few minutes later to tell me to come back later in the day. Well, I know that they are busy, but I am too. I took time off my day to see Dr Baylor and besides, the visit was not free. I pay for those services. I decided i'd had enough and requested that my medical records be sent to my daughter's gynecologist. Her office is not that large, so, there's room for the personal attention that I need. I don't want to be pampered, I just want to get what I'm paying for without feeling like I am being granted a favor.
When I left, the receptionist tried to collect my money, except, she had already collected; that's the first thing they do. They treat you like you are in an assembly line, and before they even know what's wrong with you, they charge you.
I told her I didn't owe anything; I hadn't been seen. It turns out, she owed Me, because she charged me before I went to the back. We decided she didn't need to refund my payment because I asked for a release of my medical records to another office and that would cover the cost.
About a month later, I received a certified letter from the office manager letting me know that my care was discontinued and if I wanted to have my records released to someone else, I had to pay a fee, which I had already paid.
I have a great deal of respect for Dr. Baylor, but it's my experience that physicians don't know how their office is working and that's the last thing I want to talk to her about during the fifteen minutes she gives me once a year.
I kept getting more and more frustrated with the staff and telling myself that Dr. Baylor was the important person, but she and other prospective patients need to know what to expect when they go there.

I love how attentive they are here. Even when notified that they have a personal phone call, they always wait to take it later. Their full attention is always on me and it makes me feel special. They make an extra effort to get to know their patients and find out what they need. They always remember me and make me feel very important. They were so respectful and kind. They went above and beyond what I would expect and really made me feel welcome. Not only were they able to provide everything they promised me, they went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations.
