Michele R. Piccone, M.D. is the Founder and Director of Visionary Eye Care Associates, LLC. Dr. Piccone is a Board Certified Comprehensive Ophthalmologist who has practiced in the Philadelphia region for over 20 years.
EDUCATION and TRAINING:
Dr. Piccone received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Molecular Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She received her MD from the Albany Medical College of Union University. Dr. Piccone spent her second year of medical school as a visiting student at Yale University School of Medicine. Upon completion of her fourth year in medical school Dr. Piccone was awarded the Jack C. Spitalny Prize for Excellence in Pediatrics. She performed an internship in Medicine at the Presbyterian-University Medical Center and completed an Ophthalmology residency at the Scheie Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology, University of Pennsylvania school of Medicine.
After a year in private practice, Dr. Piccone returned to the Scheie Eye Institute to serve 2 one year terms as Assistant Chief of Service. She remained on the faculty in the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine for nearly a decade. During this tenure, Dr. Piccone directed the medical student teaching program in Ophthalmology. Her teaching program was widely renowned for strongly influencing medical students to pursue careers in Ophthalmology.
After several years in practice, Dr. Piccone pursued a clinical fellowship in Ocular Oncology at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Piccone opened Visionary Eye Care Associates, LLC located in Wayne, Pennsylvania with the goal of bringing Philadelphia quality Ophthalmology to the suburbs. She offers a full range of comprehensive Ophthalmology services and special expertise in cataract surgery.
Dr. Piccone currently holds privileges at Main Line Health and Wills Eye Institute. Dr. Piccone was named a "Top Doc" in the Main Line Times in 2002.
