I have just moved here from Texas and upon calling this Doctor to make an appointment I was told the following rules must be met. Office visits are over-priced at $180.00 and i would get a ten day supply of subutex. Then I would need another visit to continue on the subutex. In the interim, I would also need to visit a therapist once a week. This therapist's name would be provided by their office which is fine. The catch is they don't take my insurance (my employer is a forture 50 company and has over 90,000 employees. Point being this is not some fly by night insurance company) My biggest complaint is I was willing to pay cash to this doctor and use a therapist my insurance carrier uses and this was unacceptable to them. I just think it's unfair to only use this doctor and this doctor's recommended therapist. It reminds me of when there was only one electric provider. The only good thing I can say about this doctor's office is they were honest enough to tell me to go through my insurance carrier. My doctor in Texas did not have all these rules and reqirements. It's no fun being an addict and doctor's like this should not be allowed to regulate such an expensive drug with their own rule's. 60 4mg tablets cost over $600.00 and with the added costs here, I feel sorry for the people with no insurance!
