Dr. El Borno was my psychiatrist from ages 14-27. He met me the first time at age 10 and said "You will have no problems with this one" comparing me to my sister who was also a patient. Dr. El Borno was extremely damaging to my mental health and misdiagnosed me the entire time I was his patient. He based his diagnosis on my sister who has Bipolar 1 but did not factor in that my sister and I have different fathers. Because of this man I have been on and off almost 20 different medications, most of which I never needed from the start. I have C-PTSD and this man is part of my trauma. His sessions included him emotionally abusing me, while my mother and sister were in the room to the point I would stand up and leave his office. The last time I saw him, he looked at me and said I was the problem. I now have tardive dyskinesia from the many different antipsychotics and mood stabilizers in which I never needed to begin with. I do not recommend him to anyone, he hears what he wants to hear.

For the past 22 years I have had the exceptionally good fortune to know you and have you as a trusted psychiatrist. You are an outstandiing human being and physician. You have supported and guided me in a wide variety of life's challenges and made yourself available to help me in any way you could. Seeing you has made some of life's challenges more bearable. You are extremely knowledgeable in a myriad of areas and willing to share that with others.. You are a loving and kind person and one of the most benevolent people I have known. I hope you are well and that what ever the situation is that you will prevail.

While standing at your office door on Monday, trying to find an answer to your unexpected absence, I had the good fortune of speaking with another patient of yours. She said she had known you for 25 years and raved about your qualities as a doctor and human being. While we stood there, four other patients came along. Everyone's first concern was that you were ok.

Like everyone else, I will need to find a temporary fill in for you, although it will not be the same. I hope that your absence is short-lived and that our journey can continue. Here's wishing you excellent health, strength, stamina and wisdom to bring whatever it is to swift resolution.

If I can help or support you any way, I will be honored to do so. Thanks for being there for me With much fondness and appreciation.
