My father was a long time patient of Dr. Kollmer, complaining of shoulder pain for years. Dr. Kollmer kept telling him "if your shoulder hurts, don't sleep on that side", or "you're getting older, Steve, you're going to have aches and pains - take Advil". Dad ate Advil like candy, but it never helped.

Frustrated by not getting any relief, Dad changed doctors. When he told the new doc that he had shoulder pain, the new doc said ON THE FIRST VISIT "well, let's get an x-ray and see what's going on in there" - something Dr. Kollmer NEVER did.

So Dad goes to get an x-ray, and is told to get a CAT scan immediately. In three days, Dad learned that he had LUNG CANCER, and the tumor was causing his shoulder pain. It had gone undiagnosed for YEARS, all because Dr. Kollmer wouldn't send my father for a simple x-ray. The cancer spread, so despite chemo and radiation and multiple surgeries, the lung cancer killed him.

One good thing is that after his diagnosis, Dad went to see Dr. Kollmer and told him that he was going to have to live with the guilt of dad's impending death because of his failure to give Dad a simple referral for further testing. I hope that weighs heavily on him to this day, and that he is giving his other patients better care because of it.

I only gave him one star because there was no option for ZERO stars.
