I normally do not do surveys such as this one, but felt it important to communicate our experience with Crosswoods Pediatrics so that others are well informed and can use the information to make the right decision based on their child’s care. The Drs. at Crosswoods Pediatrics are very well educated, informative and provide good care when you get an appointment to see them. Getting the appointment is the challenging part. The receptionist when answering the phone will advise you that in order to make an appointment, you must first speak with the nurse. The nurse will listen to your concern and provide medical advise over the phone (or will state that she needs to speak with the doctor and get back to you) before making the appointment. Each time this occurred, the nurse would call us back and say an appointment was not warranted and would advise what to do at home. On all three occasions, my child ended up at Childrens Hospital with a serious illness the next day that could have been prevented if the nurse would have let us schedule an appointment. I stayed with the office because I liked the doctors as they have been seeing both my children since birth. But recently my child develop a condition with his eyes. After trying to make an appointment, the nurse said she had to speak with a doctor and would get back to me. Again, I got the same push back that no appointment was necessary and my son, based on my description of what was happening over the phone, had developed a tic…not to worry as it will go away. The nurse said she would send me an article about tics to read and to call back if I had any further questions. I tried to still request an appointment as I did not feel comfortable with an over the phone diagnosis. She got very belligerent and would not schedule the appointment. Needless to say, we have switch doctors, and it has been discovered that it most likely is not a tic that is causing the eye movement. The cause is still being diagnosed and we hope to have an answer to his condition shortly.

Again this is not something I normally share as I don’t like to give negative reviews about any service, but you need to be very cautious with this office's staff and their intent to provide the best care to your child.
