My very first contact with Dr. Kindervader involved her being extrememly rude. I came in with my daughter who was a client there. I introduced myself to her and said hello...her response was "I assumed that was who you were." She said it as if I had insulted her intelligence. I let it go...but as the appointment went on. Dr. Kindervader made assumptions and recommendations from those assumptions that turned out not to be true. Her insistance that she was right and her failure to listen to even the simplist contradiction to her opinion (even when it involved only a simple fact she was wrong about) led me to believe she cared more about being right than she did helping a client. Her opinion (which she stated as fact) turned out to be harmful to my daughter and we are still working to correct it with a therapist who cannot believe what she did.

Her staff, however, has been very helpful...even admitting they believe Dr. Kindervader to be wrong about many things.

Barbara Metcalf of Kindervater and Carroll informed my teenage daughter that I "tried to kill myself". Ms. Metcalf acted on information given to her by my estranged ex-wife and had ample opportunity to discuss anything she wished with me, but chose to make assumptions instead. Kindervater and Carroll originally offered via email to set up a meeting for me to discuss the matter with Barb Metcalf only, and not the license holder. However, they ignored all further emails and let the deadline [one month after first contact] expire without scheduling any meeting. I would have to involve my daughter if I wished to pursue legal action or potentially if I were to file a complaint. Choose your provider carefully. My daughter's were there a year ago for help transitioning through a divorce. They have never had serious issues before this one and we were only there to give one of them the chance to discuss a time share change openly in a safe environment. Barbara Metcalf had no business even having an opinion of our court sanctioned agreement, let alone horribly influencing her underage patient.
