After recommending Dr. Elizabeth Wanek to many of my friends and students over the years, I was shocked when yet another friend wanted to chat with me about this doctor but alerted me to her reviews. I had never gone on line to see any reviews and was dismayed by some of the negative reviews that I feel are entirely incorrect and malicious. Dr. Wanek is a non-conventional doctor whose practice goes contrary to popular opinion in her approach to keeping you well. She educates her patients on how foods can either hurt you or heal you from their nutritional properties. Rather than mask your pain from inflammation with prescription drugs (with all their numerous negative side effects), she gives you the foods, recipes, and specific supplements that will heal you at the cellular level. And this takes time! Time to develop new habits and eliminating certain foods that you have eaten your entire life. Most people just want a quick fix to eliminate their pain and health problems without having to change the types of foods they are eating and unwilling to give up. Dr. Wanek healed my arthritic hip pain and lower back pain and constipation. Not in a few days or weeks but over many months as I followed her advice. I slowly eliminated the harmful foods and eat only the foods that my body can use to nutritionally to eliminate my pain and restore my health. This took time and dedication to change what you have always eaten and how you have always prepared food. And there is no one fix but a combination of supplements and natural food mixtures and choices that slowly serve to change the chemistry in your cells to allow the body to heal and function properly. Few people will want to do the work it takes to change their habits and foods over time to get their health back. Dr. Wanek gives her monthly lectures free to educate her patients on how cellular chemistry works to reduce and eliminate the inflammation that contributes to pain and disease. And once you understand this complex chemistry in the body you begin to see how the right foods and its preparation can heal your body and keep you healthy for life. Yes, I do see other doctors for gynecological exams and mammograms and colonoscopies. But I have been a patient of Dr. Wanek for many years and continue to do so - not because I am sick but to keep me well as she routinely measures my blood, metabolic and hormonal levels to see how I have improved or need adjustments. If you are not willing to change what you have always eaten and incorporate daily nutritional measures to restore your health, then go see the traditional doctors who will rush you through an appointment and get you out of their office with a prescription medication for a temporary drug fix that masks the real deficiencies going on in your body.

Dr. Wanek saved my life. I didn't see her as a surgeon. I saw her as a functional nutritionist and holistic doctor.
