Dr. Sheila Apicella received her undergraduate degree at Barnard College in New York City. She then earned her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. After a pre-residency fellowship in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at St. Luke s/Roosevelt Hospital in New York, Dr. Apicella continued her post-graduate training at SUNY-Stony Brook. She completed her residency at the University of Pittsburgh Eye and Ear Institute (consistently ranked as one of the top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report).Board certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Apicella treats general ear, nose and throat disorders including sinus disease, throat and voice disorders, diseases of the ear, sleep-disordered breathing, and pediatric otolaryngology. She also has expertise in minimally invasive endoscopic sinus surgery and balloon sinuplasty. She is an attending at Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Apicella is member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, New York County Medical Society and the Medical Society of the State of New York. She has been repeatedly recognized as a Castle Connelly Regional Top Doctor from prior to 2014 until the present as well as Top Doctors New York Metro Area.

Recent Reviews
Scheduled an appointment for Friday at 2:45pm. Called the office to let them know that there is traffic and that we will be arriving at 2:55pm. At first was told that I should be fine since there is a 15 minute grace period. Upon arriving to the office, we were told that the doctor left early and we had to reschedule. Told them that we couldn't afford to reschedule.

So you mean to tell me that because the doctor wants to "leave early" we cannot be seen? very dissapointed, would never recommend!

She's great - very personable and really cares, which isn't always the case. Also very thorough and knowledgeable - I highly recommend.
