Dr. Hoffman has been recognized nationally and internationally for his surgical skills, published works and his ability to teach residents and students. While his accolades are numerous, Dr. Hoffman remains completely focused on aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. On January 1, 2004 he stepped down from his position of Chief of the Combined Division of Plastic Surgery to devote himself entirely to patient care.
Dr. Hoffman has been involved in charitable endeavors throughout his remarkable career. These charities and organizations include the founding of the Children’s Reconstructive Surgery Center, working with patients at the Imus Cattle Ranch for Kids with Cancer and Healing Hands. Dr. Hoffman has operated on a number of children who have been victims of terrorism in the Middle East.

Dr. Lloyd Hoffman completed his general surgery training at Cornell/New York Hospital and went on to fellowships in plastic surgery, hand surgery and microsurgery at the Institute for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at New York University. Dr. Hoffman returned to Cornell in 1987, to become the youngest division chief in the country. Under his leadership, the division expanded significantly, including the creation of the Cornell Hand Service and the Children’s Reconstructive Surgery Center. He was chosen to lead the first combined division when Cornell and Columbia merged to form The New York Presbyterian Hospital.Dr. Hoffman has been recognized nationally and internationally for his surgical skills, published works and his ability to teach residents and students.
