Blew my back June 1992 doing a concrete job at home on my time. I always hurt, every day since to now October 2011. Sometime 1994 I considered this guy because most patients I know, he had done back surgery to, had excellent results. He wanted fresh MRI which I did. He said I had minimal damage, why was I wasting his time? He told me surgery, might help, might be same, might be worse and end up in wheelchair. He was very analytical like most tool and diemakers I know---prima donna attitude. I did not do surgery then. This guy comes highly recommended from the rehab therapy I have recently done. My therapy makes me hurt more. I am reconsidering surgery, shopping for a good surgeon. Is this guy any good? I want a dam good doc with a good followup plan. I want my life back so I can work. Age 60 I can function doing stuff, but herniated disk hurts like heck usually resulting in a day or two off. I cannot work a job for anybody but me. As to my religious point of view, suicide is not an option, have thought about it.
