AlI can say is that he is a nice guy & I believe he knows his stuff, but his approach to having a private is some what questionable. His practice is to private. The wait time to see him is ridiculas, often more then 1 hour, calling in to speak to him if you have an issue - Well good luck. He hardly is ever in his office. They give you an oppointment for a certain time, often he is late and his only response for his lateness is "sorry about that". As a so called "hiv" specialist, I really don't think that he is sensative or expresses concern for your condition. All of the above is probabely due to the fact he is a one man office with no serious backup. There is suppose to be a women doctor as his backup, but she is invisible. I tried calling her once for a serious issue I had because Dr. Cortes was not in, and she did not get back to me till 2 days later.

Quite frankly, would I recommend him to anyone, the answer is "NO",

Yes, they've stayed open late when I've needed help

Absolutely, they were an expert!
Did this provider ever take personal phone calls while in the appointment room with you?
He/she would never do that! Their full attention is always on me.
Was it clear that this provider takes pride in the appearance of his/her office?
Definitely! It was one of the best looking offices I've ever seen!
How would you compare this provider to others in his/her field that you have visited?
There is no comparison!
