Doctor is outdated and gives poor advice. He told me not to give my son any peanuts due to his mild peanut allergy when in fact, not giving peanuts would cause the allergy to worsen and I should be giving him peanuts often. Luckily I went for a second opinion. He also requires you to come back for results rather than telling you over the phone so that you have to pay additional copays. He's money hungry! I do not recommend going to him!

I've been struggling with a skin allergy that has no known cause and doesn't respond to treatment. I went to Dr Adimoolam for some assistance, but found I wasted my time. I was seen in his Staten Island office. The office staff was friendly and beyond reproach-- but the office was disgusting. The bathroom was full of used patient cotton swabs, tissues, and bandaids, some bloody. The waiting room was overrun by 2 kids in sore need of something to calm them down and not only were the chairs broken and dirty looking the carpet smelled.

But the doctor came recommended by my own GP who I have great respect for. In a nutshell? The doctor told me 3 amazing revelations: 1. As someone with a history of allergic reactions, I should expect allergic reactions throughout my life and shouldn't be surprised that I'm experiencing a skin allergy. 2. I should use lotion "all over" because dry skin can exacerbate any skin allergy. 3. I am prone to acne which is also a problem. I was the one who informed Dr. A of these issues before he examined me.

My overall sense is that he was looking for a preexisting issue to blame for my current problem. He was fishing for a cause at home-- wall to wall carpeting, exposure to fragrances, too much sun, a thyroid condition, herpes-- anything, none of which I have, have been diagnosed with, or subject myself to. He then began speaking to me like I was a bit slow when I told him that to remove as many toxins, fragrances, and chemicals from my life (in order to see what may be causing my situation) I make all my own beauty care products and my household cleaners from organic, natural, and chemical-free ingredients. He thought that was "simply impossible" and so prescribed me the exact same steroid cream I told him may have made the problem worse, told me to wear vinyl gloves to wash the dishes (even though I already told him I do), and an antihistamine whose name was emblazoned on a set of sticky pads on his desk. Furthermore, he actually interrupted my appointment-- I had been waiting an hour to see him and had over 10 patients arrive after me who were seen before me-- told me to go outside since he had to check another patient, and then had me come back into the office. If you have an allergy Dr A is of absolutely NO HELP WHATSOEVER.
