When working with patients in a consolidated treatment modality, where Dr. Zenn is the sole provider of the psychotherapy and medication, she will begin with an initial evaluation. After completing some self-assessment questionnaires (for mood, and eating patterns, if appropriate), she will thoroughly explore the nature of the patient’s present complaints, past psychiatric, medical, family and personal history and treatment goals at the end. Having performed a detailed history she will arrive at an accurate diagnosis and a customized treatment plan.
Another feature unique to the psychotherapy practice of Doctor Zenn is the occasional inclusion of her 12 year old Shih tzu, Sasha, a warm, friendly pet, who has been shown repeatedly to reduce anxiety in many anxious individuals, as well as elevate mood in depressed individuals.
