Dr. Shapiro and his staff provide a full range of medical services to individuals and family members age 12 and above. As a board certified Family Practice physician, he specializes in the healthcare needs of you and your family. Dr. Shapiro can take care of most of your medical problems. As your family physician, he can help you decide when you need specialty care and arrange referrals with the best specialists in the area. He has been a staff physician at the Hunterdon Medical Center since 1979 and is a member of Hunterdon Healthcare Partners. Dr Shapiro's practice is a Level III Patient Centered Medical Home, which is the highest rating possible from the NCQA. Dr. Shapiro is also a qualified medical acupuncturist. He is one of the first 38 physicians in the State of New Jersey to pass the Proficiency Examination of the American Board of Medical Acupuncture. And, he is one only a few physicians in New Jersey with hospital privileges in Medical Acupuncture. In February of 2001, Dr. Shapiro became one of the first 83 physicians in the United States to be board certified in Medical Acupuncture.
