Friendly, thorough and competent

I thought my face was forever ruined. After trips to three other dermatologists, I was told I had either acne or some kind of fungal infection. At 30 years old, my cheeks spontaneously became covered in a dark red, almost purple rash and excruciating cystic acne. After a slew of creams, diet changes, topical creams, pills, etc., I knew I wasn't doing something right. I scoured the web for someone with high reviews and found Dr. Milbauer.

Not only was the office a pleasure to deal with, his staff amazing, and the wait time minimal, Dr. Milbauer was a phenomenal help, and saved my face! Although my condition initially stumped him too, Dr. Milbauer gave me samples of a topical to try out for something (instead of making me fill a prescription and spending copious amounts of money - I was currently unemployed/uninsured). He then did research and contacted his peers. He kept me posted on his findings, and I kept him up-to-date with what I was finding in my own research. When the original topical didn't work, we formed an attack plan together based on the notion that I had a strange form of rosacea, as we concluded based on our research. He humored my request for a specific antibiotic that cured a similar case in China that I had read about. He also recommended Finacea, of which he provided samples.

Sure enough, after almost a year of painful suffering and horrified looks from strangers, my face began to clear up. With in a week, I had no new breakouts. Within a month, my face was healed and only pink. He then provided me with a prescription for a year's supply so that I did not have to keep visiting him to refill it, and said to stay in touch if anything changed.

It has not. My face has been completely clear for over a year now, and I have Dr. Milbaur to thank for it. Not only has he been incredible as a doctor, he is also a wonderful human being who doesn't want to make his patients pay any more than necessary, nor waste their precious time with unnecessary appointments. He communicates frequently while investigating what ails you, works with you to find the cause, LISTENS, and then doesn't unnecessarily force you to see him every week once you have things under control. He is truly a blessing to the field, and I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend him.
