I have 3 herniated discs in lower back , DDD, and arthritis and in my early 40s. On my first visit, this doctor said I was too young to have back and hip issues, what did I do to hurt myself. Believe me; I didn't do anything to hurt myself. He sent me for $35,000 to $45,000 worth of tests (thankful for insurance) then never discussed why or what my results were from those expensive and very painful tests. I always had to call several times to get the results from each test. I never received any calls on my results. After a discogram test (that was $20,000 alone,) doctor said I needed 3 discs fused in lower back because they were pain generators. This was the second time he said I would need surgery. After the myelogram test, I had a spinal headache for 6 days before they decided to do an epidural blood patch. After the myelogram test, he noted that surgery wasn't an option and for me to exercise. I also had to call to find this out. I am 5'3' weight 120lbs, so I am not over weight and try to exercise every day. I asked the nurse about dealing with the daily pain this causes and the fact that I can’t do the things I enjoy..like hiking, riding 4 wheelers, hunting, and fishing and the nurse said go back to my regular MD doctor. My regular doctor sent me to Dr. Crabtree. I have tried all of the alternative methods before going to Dr. Crabtree. I did physical therapy, epidurals in back for 1 year (they didn’t not work at all for me), pain medicines, which I am not big on taking a bunch of pills to “cover up” the issue, plus I work full time and can’t function on pain meds, new mattress, new pillow, back/foot rests, everything that I could of that might work, I have tried. This doctor does NOT like to answer questions or discuss anything. If you have multiple issues and want to know what is going on with your care, then you will not like this doctor. I feel like he ran me through to get money from my insurance that said basically there is nothing that I can do for you…didn’t even say thanks for all of your money!!!
