I reluctantly went to Bright Now Dental after reading the other reviews because it accepted my excellent dental coverage. However, I have been more than pleasantly surprised. Without question, Dr. Alayssami is by far the best dentist I have ever seen (I'm 55 and have had a lot of fillings, crowns and 10+ years ago had gum surgery.) Last week he encouraged me to send my crown back to the lab because he though it was one shade too dark. On my second visit, he took the entire time to answer my questions; he rescheduled the appointment and did not charge me for his time. (I asked him a lot of questions, primarily about why or why not dental work would be needed.) He takes a picture with a miniature camera and shows patients the photo and explained to me what it showed and why I did or did not need work on each specific tooth. He discouraged me from spending any money on two teeth that my dentist in Atlanta said should have a crown, and explained why. I found him to be forthright and honest, and the consummate professional. He is VERY polite and considerate. He tells you ahead of time what he is going to do (I'm going to inject the lower portion of gum with Novacane, there will be a slight pinch and brief discomfort, we will wait a few minutes for the gum to numb up and then I will remove your old crown.) He attended a top-5 dental school, where he was a faculty member. I will say that when his staff gave me a "proposal" for future services that it was "aggressive" and recommended some services that Dr. A. told me did not need to be done at this time.

I was a patient at Dr. Alayssami’s Vienna/Dunn Loring office. At every appointment they tried to sell me some expensive procedure that no other dentist I saw before or since ever even suggested. First it was adult braces. Then a deep cleaning. Then they insisted that my low gumline required a skin graft to restore my gums to the tune of $3,000 performed--of course--by their in-house periodontist. Other dentists either haven't mentioned my low gumline, or have just mentioned it as something to keep an eye on. If you visit Dr. Alayssami, I would recommend keeping an eye on your wallet.
