I know that most negative reviews can be clumped as just a customer that was disgruntled because they felt slighted in a way. I will just tell you my story so that you can judge for yourself.

For my first appointment, I saw Dr. Slattery as a new patient for a cleaning. To be candid, his hygenist was quite rough compared to what I was used to. Pinching my lips, scrapping my gums, etc. It just didn't seem like a professional level of care. The hygenist seemed not to care about how my experience was. This should have been foreshadowing...

For my second appointment, I had a filling scheduled with Dr. Slattery. While the filling was deep in one of my molars. The professional level of care was also non-existent. Pinched my lips several times, even his assitant was just sloppy (I don't know any better way to describe it). Sloppy, unprofessional, no high standard of care, just a complete rough and tough feeling. This isn't even the worst of it.

Dr. Slattery told me that I had no eating restrictions. So the PB&J I had scheduled for lunch should have been OK. However, when I bit into my sandwich, I experienced a "stop me in my tracks type pain". I went back to Dr. Slattery requesting some explanation. He explained to me that there was a fracture in my tooth and there was nothing he could do about it. It would either heal itself (what?!?! do teeth regenerate fractures?) or I would need a crown and/or root canal.

After this, I decided to get a second opinion. I went to Levy and Hoffman. From an objective place, Levy and Hoffman was a night and day difference from Dr. Slattery. They had professional courtesy, very proper, very careful and accomodating. It left me feeling like every employee in the building that I had interaction with was competant. Dr. Hoffman recommended that I get a crown to seal the fracture as I was experiencing sensitivity to hot/cold. There was no other way around it. The only solution to the problem arising from Dr. Slattery was more $$$$.

As a result, I went back to Dr. Slattery asking for a refund of at the very least my out of pocket expense. His answer was no. His explanation was that any dentist would have done the work I did. Essentially no customer care what so ever. No sympathy, the man just wanted to keep the $$$.

Keep in mind, before the filling I had zero pain. After the Slattery filling, constant nagging hot/cold pain and sensitivity. Dr. Slattery feels that he had no contribution to the fracture and therefore has no accountability or responsiblity to me, his patient, after the procedure.

I would never recommend a friend, associate, or family member to this dentist. Dr. Slattery took my money and ran.
