I don't feel like I can count on them to work with me until they find a solution for my situation. I asked him to justify why braces would correct the sensitivity in my teeth and the grinding problem. Other dentists told me I need crowns and root canals. I don't know who to believe but he didn't want to answer my questions. He became very defensive and told me there are no guarantees. I initially went because I had pain in my lower left teeth. He said I needed restorations, scheduled for two weeks later. After experiencing extreme pain, I made another appointment before the two week appointment. The first thing he mentioned was the braces. I reiterated that I needed something done about the pain and I also needed to know more about how braces would help me before committing to over $5000 and 3+ years. I asked what was going to be done at this visit and he said he would be doing a restoration. So he did the restoration - on the top teeth! Then told me I'd have to wait for the later appointment to resolve my immediate problem. When I stated that we have a communication problem, he told me I should go to an oral surgeon and have all my teeth pulled and that he wouldn't treat me further.
He had no compassion about my fear of dentists even though I was sweating and shaking in the chair.
