WORST EXPERIENCE EVER AT A DENTIST; AVOID CASTLE DENTAL!
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY. Worst experience ever at a dental office. Castle Dental Center is poorly managed, disorganized, the wait time is ridiculous, and the employees are rude, scatter-brained, poorly trained (if trained at all), don't listen or communicate well, and can't think for themselves. Had to spell my first and last name three times for the receptionist, who appeared to be on drugs. Arrived at my appointment 10 minutes early, After filling out exhaustive paperwork, I waited over an hour to get a simple teeth cleaning, even though there was only one other person in the waiting room, and there were three dentists on duty that day. Ended up wasting 1 1/2 hours of my time and leaving without getting my teeth cleaned due to the incompetence of Castle Dental Center's employees, as well as their ridiculous policy concerning mandatory x-rays for everyone who walks in the door. All I wanted was a simple teeth cleaning, but they insisted on giving me a full set of x-rays first, despite the fact that they received my 1-week-old x--rays from my orthodontist within 10 minutes after I authorized it. As I explained to them, I have thyroid problems, am taking thyroid medicine, and my doctor advised me to avoid all unnecessary x-rays. I clearly disclosed all of this information on the paperwork, and told the receptionist, the dental assistant,and the office manager. However, they refused to clean my teeth without taking a whole new set of x-rays, so I collected all of my paperwork and left. Take the time to educate yourself concerning dental procedures, your patient rights, x-rays, and how radiation accumulates inside you over your lifetime and harms every cell in your body (not just your thyroid). You have rights as a patient, and you don't have to subject yourself to unnecessary radiation or to any other treatment that you don't want. You have the power to decide what treatments you receive. Don't give away your power. Do yourself a huge favor and walk out of any office that insists on taking x-rays without a valid and very compelling reason. Castle Dental did NOT have a valid reason for taking x-rays in my case. I went to another dentist (a competent one), and she accepted my orthodontist's x-rays and cleaned my teeth with no hassle and no problems. AVOID incompetent Castle Dental Centers, and save yourself a waste of time, money, and unnecessary radiation. Go to a competent dentist who knows what he or she is doing. Your teeth and body will thank you, as will your wallet.
