Wow, had the police called on me by a crazy lady today... here's the BBB complaint that came out of it all. It had to be less than 4000 characters so it I had to use several abbreviations and remove less important details, but here it is...

(This is about Wylie Children's Dentistry)

The office manager at this location, a Mrs. Edith, harassed my family.
When we arrived the receptionist greeted us and had me sign papers confirming the nature of our visit. I saw that the needed filling repair (our main reason for coming in) was not listed and brought that to attention. The reception asked me to sit down while she talked to the office coordinator, OC,(not sure what her official title is) and made the corrections.
A few min later the OC called my daughter, O, back for treatment. I came up with O and asked if she'd be getting the tooth fixed. The OC assured me that O would be getting 5 sealants, one on each of the 4 12yr molars, and one on the damaged tooth. I told her it wasn't a sealant, it was a broken area on her tooth where her braces tore off a filling. I had O open her mouth and then I showed the OC where the filling was damaged. She said they would need to take an x-ray.
When she returned with O, she told me they didn't place that filling and so they couldn't make time to repair it right now. I told her I didn't think they had placed it (we just moved to the area 1.5yrs ago), but that my appt was scheduled to get it repaired and that needed to happen. The OC had us wait in the waiting room a few minutes then returned and said they could squeeze us in at 1:30 if we could come back. I explained that my daughter was already missing school and I didn't want her missing more school for a scheduling mistake they had made. She said there was nothing she could do, so (having already had frustrations with this office in the past) I told her if they could not find time in their schedule I'd take my family's business elsewhere. The OC then fit us in.
While waiting, my 2yr old son played with their many children's diversions, I made a cup of coffee, sat in a chair and slid off my sandals to curl up and read. My son played and visited. Each person assured me that he was just adorable and no bother.
After a good wait O was done and brought to the front by a staff member I had never seen. The staff member asked to speak and escorted me to her side of the door. She introduced herself as the office manager, Edith. She said she did not appreciate me harassing her staff and threatening them with leaving the practice. I explained that it was not a threat, it was exactly what would have happened, and because I let them know they were able to find time for O. She said they shouldn't have. I told her I was glad they did. She said she also didn't like how I was acting in the waiting room and told me I was being absolutely unprofessional and obscene taking off me shoes and letting my child run around. That I was making their patients feel uncomfortable and that they didn't want my business anymore. I said that was fine because I didn't plan to come back and then proceeded to the waiting room to gather my kids and my things. As were were leaving I asked the waiting room if my sitting in a chair with no shoes on or if my 2 yr old had bothered anyone. Everyone said no. I told them I had been accused of acting inappropriate and was told to not come back, and then proceeded to my car.
Before I could get my son buckled Edith was outside standing behind my car and calling the police. She refused to move so I couldn't leave and then told the 911 operator that I was harassing her office and patients and was refusing to leave. When the officers arrived they talked to me, my daughter, Edith, and the people in the waiting room. Edith accused me of yelling and cussing and abandoning the care of my young children to harass her patients and refusing to leave. None of which happened. My story was corroborated and police said I could go.
They apologized for the Edith and the time they had taken. Before leaving I asked one of the officers what I should do about this harassment. He strongly suggesting taking some action. Charges could not be filed because no laws were broken, but he strongly suggested finding some means to make people aware of her inappropriate actions.

I couldn't believe how great their office looked. It was very obvious that they took pride in the office's appearance. It was one of the best looking offices I've ever seen. They always make an extra effort to make me feel respected and attended to. They always listen to every question or concern I may have. It was very easy to get an appointment. They have a very flexible schedule and get me in quickly every time.
