They are so kind and caring, and they stay open way past their closing time to help anyone who needs them. They wouldn't deny anyone that needed help. I know I can always count on them. They went out of their way to make me feel special and respected, and were very sympathetic to my situation. I've never seen more kindness and empathy anywhere else. Everyone has heard my raves already about this dentist. They are so amazing, I just want the world to know! I'm always amazed at how considerate and concerned they are for my well-being. Their advice is always wonderful and completely unbiased.

It is sad that I have to take the time to write this, but my experience today was just that BAD!

I have been going to SKD for years at the Franklin office. Through the years, I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars on dental work there for both my daughter and myself. The quality of the work is well worth the price you pay, I must say.

However, my customer service experience there today was HORRIBLE. Imagine having your mouth with guaze paritally packed and feeling out of it from having a dental procedure performed on you and now you have to walk out of the dental office and down public hallway (on display for all to see) just to urinate, when there is a fully functional toilet just feet from where your dental procedure is taking place. Humiliating.

Yet, the funny thing is, I have been able to use this conveniently-placed toilet a couple of times in the past, when having my braces worked on or getting my teeth whitened. But today, it was off limits. It has always been an employee restroom, so the times I have used it in the past, I have made sure to leave it cleaner than I found it in appreciation for the convenience of letting me use it. But today, this dental hygienist named Karra???? (I guess she is relatively new, since I have been going there for years and have never had her) literally cut through the employee lounge area so that she could beat me to the employee bathroom where she barricaded herself and reiterated that I could not use the employee bathroom. I told her I was not going out in that public hallway with stuff all in my mouth like that, when there was a restroom right here and could I please use this one, as it has not been a problem in the past. She said no and had the listening staff overhead page Dr. Snodgrass. So uncalled for. (Nevertheless, it is my suspicion that this lady loves drama and she won't last very long there.)

Dr. Snodgrass came around the corner furious (not really sure what all she told him) and when I explained what happened, he said to me (in a tone of a principal reprimanding an elementary school student), "so is that what your problem is?" Wow! What a way to respond to a father who has spent thousands of dollars with your business! Sad. Guess attitude (hers) does relfect leadership (his) in today's situation. After he proceeded to tell me how many employees he had and that this restroom was reserved for them, he (with a look of utter disgust) said to me, well, just go ahead and use the restroom (meaning the employee-only "off limits" toilet). All this because I needed to pee, really? WOW! I felt completely humiliated; thanks Karra??? and Dr. Snodgrass.

I used the restroom, made sure it was cleaner than I found it and went back to have my procedure finished, of course, with a new hygienist to finish the procedure (Jennifer- who was great). Just a thought, with all of the money that is made there, it is probably a good idea to just allow patrons (who help pay the bills, mind you) to just use the employee bathroom when they have guaze and all in their mouths and are in the middle of a dental procedure.

I use the public bathroom there all the time (and will always from now on) while bringing my daughter there for a procedure, after having my teeth cleaned, while I have been waiting in the lobby, etc. In my humble opinion, an exception should be made in cases like mine today when patients are in the middle of a procedure and without all of the unncessary drama that Ms. Karra????? brought today.

Suffice it to say, I have asked that she never touch my mouth again. She is horrible in customer service and she needs to practice a little more when performing certain dental procedures because she messed up several times today when helping Dr. Hametnik (Dr. H- new dentist there, who interestingly did not come back to check on me after the whole ordeal, but okay). Dr. H. was very gracious though to Karra ??? and told her it was okay (when Karra forgot to do something) and corrected her and told her what she needed. Embarrassing. Sad.

You probably won't do anything with this because it does not shine a favorable light on one of the named business partners and one of the staff members, but at least I took the time to share my experience.
