I had a lesion under my tongue and it worried me since I don't really get canker sores and I'm a very avid brusher. I called alpha dental and the woman asked if I wanted to schedule a teeth cleaning as well. I thought sure, why not I could use one. The girl who cleaned my teeth was really rough on my mouth and I remember thinking "wow I must not have been brushing as good as I thought." Only to find out I had no cavities or anything wrong tooth related. The actual dentist was nice, I only saw him for about a minute but he didn't know what the lesion was under my tongue and wanted me to see an MD and everyone was more worried about talking about setting up an appointment for my wisdom teeth then the actual lesion under my tongue.. At this point I'm pretty worried about the lesion, I really don't care at all about anything else. After the brutal teeth clean my whole mouth was throbbing and in pain the rest of the day, all I could do was take some pain medication and go to sleep. I decided not to go to the recommended oral surgeon they wanted me to go to, I wasn't going to wait another two weeks to find out what the lesion was considering that was the whole reason I was there in the first place. I went to a Dr. in Nashville the next day and they informed me that a lesion under the tongue was covered under medical and not dental and was more of a medical issue, so I was a little confused why no one told me to see an oral surgeon to begin with when I first called if no one there was going to be able to diagnose me. When the oral surgeon looked over the lesion he discovered it was just an ulcer most likely brought on by stress but even worse he wanted to know where I got my teeth cleaned because I had badly bruised gums.

I've never seen a dental office that cares about their patients more than they do. They've never pressured me to get dental procedures I don't need, and they always have my best interest in mind. I'm very confident that my health is their top priority, and I know they would never recommend any sort of dental procedure that I didn't need. I trust them completely. They are always prepared for my appointment and remember everything about me. I was confident that they were using the latest treatment methods.
