I just walked out of an appointment at Access Dental Care because of the unprofessional sales oriented attack. I had a dentist for 20 years who took great care of me and my teeth. The only reason I left her was because my insurance changed. I can't afford to pay for my dental bills on my own. Access seemed so nice and easy. My first visit and cleaning was great and they treated me so kindly. Then they said I needed a "deep cleaning". OK...I agreed since I thought it was neccessary (my former dentist never tried to "upsell" me so I wasn't prepared) and I made an appt. Today I was told that I also had to make another appt for the other side. I was visibly upset so they told me I could do both sides in one day. Of course I would still have to pay for both sides. So now I have to have this "extra cleaning" which apparently they couldn't cover in a regular cleaning (like my former dentist always did) and I have to get charged double!!! I questioned the doctor and said I didn't feel comfortable being a "cash cow" for thier business and I thought I should go elsewhere. She agreed and I walked out. I am done with Access Dental and plan to inform everyone I meet about thier tactics. I am a very unhappy former customer....YES....customer....NOT patient. They are a money making business only.
