Dr. Coy is very gentle. He has answered any concerns I have had. I have seen several dentists in the Utica area and I would highly recommend Dr. Coy. I don't want a chatty dentist working on my teeth and trying to have a conversation. Dr. Coy makes going to the dentist relaxing.

I have had my teeth cleaned by Dr. Koy's staff 3 times and had no problems. They were great. The Dr. himself has never spoken more than two words to me, until…

I had to get a cavity taken care of. He didn't let me know. He shouted it across me to his staff. I asked the receptionist, “what tooth”? She said you have 2 cavities (Oh, thanks for letting me know receptionist)! I should have known then not to allow him to fill the cavities because of his lack of communication.

The day of the procedure, He said “how are you?” and during he said, “turn her head”. That was it. It was uncomfortable and he explained my filling was very large and I will have sensitivity in that tooth (Okay, thanks for your sensitivity). After it was over, I asked him “ you don’t use mercury, do you”? Of course he does! He started rambling about why… this is the conversation I should have demanded having before the procedure. I would have never allowed that substance near me!!! He didn’t even ask my preference! I am very upset that I will have to live with this filling made of mercury!! He explained I could have it removed, but then they would drill it and mercury powder would fly all over my mouth and airway… He is a jerk with poor communication and eye contact. His receptionist is rude too by the way.
