The dentists and their assistants do a great job. They also have Senet who provides you with a free manicure while you wait. She is fantastic! The people in financing are very deceptive and dishonest. They have you sign and initial this and that and if you are like me you end up with two loans. One loaning institution pays Abbey Dental for the work they do for you and you get the privilege of payments on that loan. (Do you understand compound interest?) Do NOT have any work done until you have copies of all paperwork that has your signature and/or initials. Get the quote and warranty in writing.

DON'T GET SUCKED IN BY THE BLITZ OF TV ADS, BE PREPARED TO BE SWEET TALKED AND THEN RIPPED OFF IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE!
Part one of a four part review: THE UP-SELL
The front office staff personnel are really sweet and cordial. Then come the vultures. If they give you a "treatment coordinator" after you see the dentist, be ready to get upsold - that is recommending treatments that you don't want or need, at prices way above advertised. The treatments they offer you are to their financial benefit, not what you need, or what's best for you. For example, as other reviews have also noted, if the proper treatment is a filling, they may try to sell you a root canal or, rather than repair a tooth, they may tell you it should be extracted and replaced with a bridge or an implant.
This is the time to tell them you only wanted the free second opinion, get out of there quickly, and go elsewhere.

Part two of a four part review: THE BAIT AND SWITCH PRICING
Then the prices are not what they advertise, they are more like bait and switch. For example, a crown is not $325; the one that looks like a tooth is $550. Check out the small print that flashes by in their TV ad, their prices are not always the lowest.
After being assigned to a dentist with an unknown name and background, and then getting sweet talked (and lied to) by one of the "treatment coordinators", don't be shy or afraid to say I NEED TO THINK ABOUT IT. Never sign up for any unexpected treatment on the spur of the moment --- chances are you will be sorry. Once you sign something, and then find out you have been hustled, it's too late. They also do not offer you a copy of anything you sign, you only get a receipt for payment, and you unconditionally agree to whatever was printed out, regardless of what they verbally told you or what you really needed. Once again, this is the time to tell them you only wanted the free second opinion, get out of there quickly, and go elsewhere.

Part three of a four part review: THE INCOMPETANT DENTAL WORK
After going through ten weeks of unnecessary "treatments" at Abbey Dental here are some facts and observations: You are assigned dentists without being told anything about their qualifications, experience or competence. The ones I saw appear to be those that have failed in their own practices. Technicians sometimes do the work you would expect the dentist to be doing. They use a lab in California, so don't expect any problem with lab work to be fixed quickly.

As an example of the incompetent dental work to add to other reviews that have been posted on various websites, a temporary bridge fitted for me came loose or broke multiple times. Over the course of eight to ten additional visits, several techs and two dentists tried repairs and replacements without being able to fit one properly. The final attempt fit so badly that my mouth was swollen for weeks afterwards. I was then fitted with a "flipper", a temporary one tooth replacement that is molded to rest on the upper mouth and hooks on to the two adjacent teeth. This fit was so bad that it rocked back and forth, I had to take it out to eat anything, and it moved around in my mouth when I was talking, making my speech all garbled. After several more visits to try to repair this, including removing the clips, which were not in the right place, I just gave up. It felt like I was the patient in a movie with the Three Stooges as dentists. The moral of the story: Stay far away from Abbey Dental.

Part four of a four part review: THE LIES AND DISREGARD FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
I paid $1500 in advance for unnecessary treatments, and the only paperwork they gave me was a receipt for payment - no detailed treatment plan, time frame, or itemization of anything. At that point, I should have known I was going to get screwed. Once I had paid them, the treatment coordinator, Shea, and her co-workers Jamee and Stephanie, listened to complaints multiple times with phony smiles, but would never provide any satisfaction. Don't let their cute outfits and smiles fool you, they are scum of the earth predators out to get your money. They lied about the benefits and longevity of treatments, falsely claiming they are "good for life", and had no genuine interest in my dental care or satisfaction. A follow-up letter to the owner of the company went unanswered, leading me to believe that he is the ringleader and knows exactly what is happening. Shame on this company and the predators that work there.
