Dr Garin as a oral surgeon is good. His work is painless and he provides clear communication of what to expect prior to any procedures. HOWEVER administratively his office is the worse!!! The ladies working at the front desk are rude, unprofessional and seemingly incompetent as it pertains to doing their job. I've been to other oral surgeons and DDOs, the process is the same everywhere, a predetermination is sent to your insurance company and from there you are told what your out of pocket will be (assuming there are no surprises during the procedure. You come in for your service and pay after it is completed. With this office you can pretty much guarantee someone will botch the paperwork to the insurance company and as a result their office will return to you and demand payment with no explanation. I made it through my surgery, paid my portion IN FULL (THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS) upon checking out after my surgery, and went about my business. A YEAR later I receive a phantom bill out of nowhere, with no explanation or statement of charges, history of payment from the insurance company . . . NOTHING. When I sent the bill back with a request for additional detail (and I mean within the same week), the office sent it to collections (which isn't normal) without warning. Long story short, I contacted the insurance company to see why their portion wasn't paid and I was told that Garin's office waited about a year to submit the claim (that's what I was told). Meanwhile I had problems with the implant and tried to return to Garin but instead of standing by his work, he and his staff kept referring to the outstanding balance due . . . which I understand as a business owner, you want your money, but to let a patient suffer because of a failure of administration by the surgeons office is deplorable. In an attempt to resolve this issue (because the letters and voice messages were getting me nowhere), I grabbed my folder of statements, payments letters etc and head up to the office. Upon arriving, I take a seat and wait to be called, I approach the window and start pulling out what I received from the insurance company etc. The lady at the desk became rude, dismissive and told me I need to talk to the collection agency (with whom I only heard from the one time). I explained I needed to get the administrative issue resolved so I could see Dr. Garin (who standing there listening to the entire exchange). I was told I would not be seen until the balance is paid in full and I needed to speak to the collection agency. I retorted . . ."But I'm here now, with my statements and records, also my clinical issue is getting worse", but my words fell on deaf ears. From my pespective my portion was paid in full and I owed nothing. In addition, I hadn't heard from the collection agency or Garin's office after I sent the letter/statements showing such, so either I don't owe anything and their records are wrong, or maybe I do owe something, but they can't justify it on their end because maybe they waited too long to submit the claim... I have no idea. I do know NOT having a conversation in the moment and looking at what was sent to me does not make me feel as though I truly owe anything versus them trying to rip me off for additional money. Either way the trust is gone, and I would not return to that office if they said they found the error and I owe nothing. Ultimately the surgeon turned his back on a patient from a clinical perspective and his office admins are rude and incompetent. I would not recommend this oral surgeon or his office.

Dr. Garin is a very good Dr. You just need to get past Carol who calls you about your insurance. She called us FOUR TIMES. I did speak to the Dr. about this, thought he would of said something to her but he didn't. My neighbor called to make a appointment for her daughter. Carol called her twice about the insurance. She thinks she knows all,but she has no clue. Told me my insurance covers 100%. They didn't had to pay $200.00. Hope the Dr. sees this and will do something about this. I know at least three people who after dealing with her, didn't keep the appointment.
