James Bubenik, Dr

Dr. James E.Bubenik is a general dentist who does general dentistry procedures on all types of people. He welcomes children and adults with developmental disabilities too. The practice treats non-disabled patients and patients with disabilities, mental impairments and patients fearful of dentistry. Those who have difficulty with anesthesia (getting numb properly) are also treated comfortably with some special techniques. Patients with all types of developmental disabilities including mental retardation, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy, chromosome abnormalities and those with serious medical problems are welcome. Patients with uncooperative behaviors are treated with applied behavior analysis (behavior modification) and oral sedation (“anxiolysis”) and nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”). If extras services such as these are needed there is an additional fee for the time, materials and expertise involved. In many but not all cases, patients do not always need to continue the extra services and can complete treatment after several visits with special help. The overall goal of treatment is that patients complete their needed dental work comfortably and without worry.

I have three sons with fragile x syndrome, it has been a struggle finding a dentist. I took my son to James Bubenik's office. My son did well and felt comfortable with the dentist. The BIG con is you are charged an extra $120 for behavior modification which is not covered by insurance. I appreciated his time and understanding but That is not affordable to many especially when you have three children. I do not believe someone should be charged extra for having a disability it is ridiculous.My child has not been back and I am on the search again.

To me, there is no better Dentist than Dr. Bubenik. This is one dentist I trust and will always recommend.
