Dr Robert LaCosse is the first and still the only general dentist north of Minneapolis to have been awarded full accreditation from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. With over 6000 members, the AACD is the largest organization in the world dedicated to the art and science of cosmetic dentistry and only 300 members have reached the level of accreditation.

Dr LaCosse runs a general dental practice with a strong emphasis on the particular skills required for achieving excellent results in cosmetic dentistry and complex restorative or reconstructive dental cases. Comfort, respect, trust and value are stressed in all of his procedures.

Dr LaCosse has also been awarded the prestigious Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry and the invitation only Fellowship in the International Academy of Dental Facial Esthetics. He is the only dentist in the midwest to hold all of these honors at the same time. In addition, he was the first dentist in Duluth to complete the Post Graduate Continuum in Esthetic Dentistry at the University of Minnesota. He is a published author on the topic of Cosmetic Dentistry, a respected lecturer in Cosmetic Dentistry topics at several organizations including the University of Minnesota, and is a contributor for dental topics at KBJR news.

As owner of the Lake Dental Group in Duluth, his primary goal is to work together with each patient in a comprehensive and caring way to achieve the best possible dental care. New patients are always welcome.

Dr. Lacosse has been the dentist for my family which includes my children now 24 and 28, and my mother who is 100. Bob has cared for us all for twenty years when we moved from St. Paul to Two Harbors. We all have beautiful smiles and confidence that comes with great looking teeth thanks to Bob. We also have our health today because of his guidance through many decisions that were challenging, requiring him to educate us on options and colleagues he recommended when other specialists were needed. Personally, I am so fortunate to have met Bob 20 years ago and to have had his care, aesthetic design skill and commitment to excellence. Bob delivered difficult news that my implants and crowns that were 30 years old could no longer be sustained. That was most of my mouth and while I was in pain and losing teeth, starting over at age 50 was overwhelming. Bob and his staff walked with me every step of the way, not only performing the highest level of professional care but tending to my comfort and emotional needs as well. I cannot say enough how grateful I am. There is not a week the goes by that someone doesn't comment on my beautiful smile! No one will ever touch my mouth as long as Bob is practicing dentistry. To this day it is a pleasure for me to drive from my home in Minneapolis to see my dentist on London Road.
