I went to this doctor because I was in a terrible state of health. I had lost about 12 pounds, my brain was becoming fuzzy, I was incredibly fatigued, - just in a state of blatant sickness and ill health. Meanwhile I had been bitten by a tick about a year and a half earlier. All these symptoms had presented themselves then and a few weeks of doxycycline healed me. However, when I asked if my illness could now be lyme disease returning, as the symptoms were near identical, he said there was no way it could be. He recommended me an anti-depressant and told me it could be chronic fatigue syndrome which has no cure as of yet. The long and the short of it is, there are two schools of thought concerning lyme disease - one that believes lyme disease can be chronic and long term and one that believes it can't. Richard Brown does not believe in recurring or chronic lyme disease, despite the evidence presented by the international lyme and associated disease society that it exists. So, my advice to anyone thinking about seeing Dr. Brown for suspicions of chronic lyme disease - save your money. Your three or four hundred dollars will get you 15 minutes of his time, no answers, added frustration, and possibly an anti-depressant pill that will cure nothing but might make you addicted. Find a llmd, preferably one who prescribes to the ilads philosophy.

I don't normally write reviews like this, but I felt obligated to warn people what they are getting into if they see this man for suspicions of chronic lyme disease. I don't know how he is with other diseases, maybe he's great. But if you think it's lyme disease that's troubling you, sadly, I don't think this doctor will be able to give you any help whatsoever.

I was incredibly disappointed.
