I hated that I wasn't able to rinse during my dental procedure at all. I seriously almost choked. The magazines in their waiting room were so boring. It made my time in the waiting room drag. As a side note, on my way to the appointment I was worried that I must have gotten wrong directions because I was practically out in the boondocks by the time I reached their building. I almost turned around because I was sure I must have passed their office, but to my surprise it was just really inconveniently located. They didn't give me any sort of oral health techniques that I could do at home to prevent cavities. I asked for some advice, but they couldn't give me any.

Not long ago, I walked into a quaintly decorated dentist office at Smiles Plus in Lafayette for an appointment. I was greeted immediately by a friendly, smiling face. I checked in and waited to be seen.
Once taken to my own, private little exam room I was astonished to see at chair-side, a small, flat-screen color TV (with remote) awaiting me to help kill the time before the dentist came in to see me. Awesome! I watched "According to Jim" before switching over to ESPN to get my "sports fix."
Soon thereafter Jennifer came in with a beaming smile, greeted me and sat contently and listened carefully to my questions, desires and concerns. She even called the following day to check up on me to see how I was doing and feeling.
Not long after, in came Doctor Colleen Baines. Her energetic personality and gleaming eyes put me at ease at once.
I am not proud of my current dental condition, but Dr. Baines made me feel no worse for wear. She explained I am not alone and don't feel bad or embarrassed. She explained it is her mission to improve my smile and my life!
A lot of work needs to be done to restore my smile but I feel I have finally found a dentist who truly cares with genuine compassion. I actually look forward to my return trips knowing I am in more than capable, caring hands and am eager to reach the day when she brings my smile back to healthy style.
