I was really surprised with the receptionist's etiquette this week. Every clinic has a code of ethics that all staff members should follow. my mother had scheduled an appointment over the phone for Wednesday and when she showed up it was cancelled and the receptionist said she had made the appointment for Tuesday. I am pretty sure she would know when she made her own appointments. I feel that the receptionist didn't put her appointment in on the correct day. My mother never had an issue scheduling any type of appointments. It could have been accidental and even if it was I don't think she should be treated that awful way that she was. after my mother told the receptionist that the appointment was for the wrong day she then had the guts to tell my mother that she doesn't have time to baby her. When my mother said, excuse me the receptionist responded "you heard me." For anyone working a business and treating your patients that way you should not be answering the phone its not the proper etiquette nor is it respectful for treating a 52 year old patient. Instead she should have asked when would be a better day to reschedule for a different appointment. You lost a patient. Not one, but the whole family. Maybe you should train your staff better communication skills, proper etiquette, patience and respect when dealing with older patients! Especially when you have a business to run. Oh and on a final note... When she said I don't have time, what did she have time for? A receptionists job is to schedule, cancel, create, and deal with patients first hand. That is her job. Maybe you should hire someone else who does have time to "deal" with patients. we will definitely never return!!
