I've lived in Bloomington for 15 years and had 2 other dentists. Dr. Tharp is in fact the most gentle dentist in town and he runs a good old fashion practice where he won't try to fix stuff that doesn't need to be fixed and charge you ridiculous amount. He is minimalist, which I really like. I've recommended to three friends now and they all like him as well. The office could use an update though. The ceiling tiles are stained, the equipment are outdated and furniture are from the 80s. The only reason why I don't give him 5 stars is because I had two horrid experiences with one of his dental hygienists. AVOID Lynn, she is brutal. I had to ask her several times to be gentler and she still muscled through everything like she's in a hurry. I feel like I am bruised and my mouth and lips still hurts. I'm going to try Holly next time and I will report back.

I will certainly consider going back. Though I didn't have a bad experience, I was a little put off by the attitudes of the aids/assistant. This provider has no helpful information available online, apart from their address, vague service descriptions, and phone number. They just have a basic listings page. Though their location isn't terribly far out of the way, there's not much other reason to venture to that part of town.
