East Cobb Dental Services is the name of the practice which is headed by Dr. Stephen Wilhoite. I've been a patient of his for the last 21 years, which is as long as I've lived in the Atlanta area. My wife and all of our children also see Dr. Wilhoite for their dental needs. We've been very pleased which is why we've continued seeing him for such a long time. He and everyone in his office is courteous, professional, and helpful. I never felt pressured to complete dental work that he recommended, and I believe the technicians always spent ample time with me when performing a cleaning. Everyone in the office has a good sense of humor and there are many kids who are patients of Dr. Wilhoite. I never have a long wait once I arrive for my appointment, but sometimes there can be a month or so wait to receive an appointment for routine care. Once you have your appointment, if follow up care is required, that always gets scheduled as rapidly as you would like to begin. Dr. Wilhoite also provides emergency care service to his patients, which is obviously scheduled right away. When we've had situations where we needed dental work which required a specialist (gum disease, wisdom teeth extraction, TMJ,etc), Dr Wilhoite and his staff were always very helpful when it came to setting us up with that other professional, and sharing information such as xrays so that prices weren't inflated due to duplicated services.

The office does give you a call as a reminder a few days before your scheduled appointment. They have always accepted the insurance coverage I had at the time, and I know they also take credit cards. A very cool feature that this dentist subscribes to allows you to buy into a "discount program" that is sponsored by insurance companies. You pay one flat fee annually (about $200 for my wife and myself) and then the fees charged by the dentist are greatly discounted. It covers every service from routine cleanings to root canals and crowns, and the typical discount is around 60% of the standard price. The reduced prices are honored immediately, no paperwork at all for the patient. It's great for people like me.

I recommended Dr. Wilhoite to a co-worker who moved into the Atlanta area and I know she's also very pleased. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone in the East Cobb area who needs an excellent dentist.
