Staff isn't very pleasent and will promise a lot to get you into the office. Dr. Shore was incredibly nice and professional but the rest of the staff was more interested in selling expensive alternative treatments. Also, be very careful dealing with them on insurance because they will promise a lot and then send you a bill months later and state they won't work with your provider after all.

I went to see Dr. Shorr, after not being to the dentist in a long time. The office was very nice and relaxing. His hygenist did a great job at making me comfortable and cleaning my teeth. Dr. Shorr came in and looked at my teeth and informed me that I have a grinding issue and that I have some damage in need of repair. He pulled out a mirror and pointed out a few areas of concern. It looked bad to me, scared me too. Then he suggested that I get my wisdom teeth removed (the hygenist looked shocked, and I saw the look she gave him). I am 41. I was in the US Navy. If my wisdom teeth needed to come out, they would have taken them. All of the other dentists I have seen have told me that my wisdom teeth are fine. But that wasnt the issue. He said that I needed to get an NTI device before any other work could be done. So, I setup an appt to get fitted for an NTI device. Upon departing from the office, the staff told me they would call my ins and verify that they would cover the device. The morning of my appt I spoke with the front desk lady and found out that no one had contacted my insurance company. But they assured me that most ins companies cover it. I decided that I would wait and she told me she would call and verify that they did. I never got a call back. I called and left messages 2 times that week. 7 days later I called the office again. The front desk lady said she called and left a message the previous day, but I doubt it. She told me that my ins did NOT cover the NTI device. I asked her for a price, which she gave me, then I asked for the plan of treatment of the other issues he brought up, wanting an idea of how much I was going to have to pay out of pocket. She said nothing was in my chart. I asked to have the Dr. contact me to discuss. He called me later that day and, with an arrogance that shocked me, told me that he wasnt really sure what else needed to be done, but if I wanted to make another appt he would take another look. I informed him of the things he told me and pointed out to me while I was there, including him giving me a mirror and he had no clue. I informed him of his front desk staff telling me that most ins cover it, only to find out that mine did not. He asked me to give him a break, that he has had high staff turn over. I told him I understand that, but that should not be my concern. My treatment is my concern. He again told me that I needed to come back in. I told him that I was apprehensive due to the way I had been taken care of so far, but I agreed to schedule something. Then he told me he had other patients to take care of and that he was sorry that he could not help and, get this, Dr. Shorr HUNG UP on me. I was stunned. I waited, but no call back. Apparently, I am not important to his practice. I got the feeling that he was only out for money when I was unable to get any cost information out of him. Other medical practises do not hide costs from their patients. Something fishy is going on at Free Home Dental. Be careful if you go there. He does not have your best interests at heart.
