This doctor was the physician on call for a psychiatric practice - WHY a GP is on call for a PSYCHIATRIC practice is beyond me.

My daughter who has Autism, Epilepsy, ADHD, Bi-Polar disorder and Scoliosis has medications that are managed by a psychiatrist at the psychiatric practice. One of her prescriptions for Epilepsy needed a refill. The pharmacy called the med-tech (not the doctor) at the psychiatric practice who noticed that there was no follow up appointment scheduled and refused to fill the prescription. There was no appt. scheduled as my daughter is to have scoliosis surgery and the psychiatrist told us to call and make an appointment once we knew the date of the surgery. She wanted to see her right before. We do not have a firm date for surgery as our Insurance carrier - Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield - just had an entire medical corporation cancel their contract midstream leaving us with NO hospitals or surgeons in network. We are wading through MILES of red tape and eventually will have a date.

Dr. Mudd returned my call as the office was closed on the Friday morning we tried to pick up the prescription. The pharmacy had not notified us there was a problem. The pharmacy told me to call the answering service and have her doctor paged. Dr. Mudd returned the call and said there was nothing he could do. I asked why her psychiatrist did not return our call and his response was "It's the weekend - I'm on call and I am NOT going to call her on the weekend". So because I was told by the pharmacist that this drug cannot be stopped abruptly without serious consequences I asked Dr. Mudd what I was supposed to do as she was out of medication. His reply was for me to take her to an ER and see what they wanted to do about it.

This man should NOT be practicing medicine much less serving as the on call physician for a PSYCHIATRIC practice!

STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS SO CALLED "DOCTOR" AS POSSIBLE.
