Dr. Kaner is good with my children, but I think I would be hesitant to recommend her to parents with severely ill children. My children do not have many heath issues, so that is the reason why she works for us. She is very responsive and quick to refer a child to a specialist, which I appreciate. She never dismisses any symptoms and doesn't disregard the concerns of a parent. Sometimes one might feel that she prescribes antibiotics too often, but she sometimes tries to recommend natural ways to prevent common infections. Once I actually did not give my child the antibiotic that Dr. Kaner prescribed and when we went back for the follow up a couple of days later my child was completely fine. Not sure if the infection healed on its own or if there was no infection from the beginning? She is a pediatrician so one must understand that she is not knowledgeable in every kind of illness or symptom, just as a family doctor that is treating an adult is not able to diagnose every issue, thus needs to sent their patient for further evaluation, whether to a allergist, dermatologist, etc. Second opinions are always good.
