About

Amarish Dave, D.O.

Hello, I'm Dr. Amarish Dave'. I am a Board Certified adult neurologist. I received my undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. I did my medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and from there did one year medical internship at Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL. From there I did my Neurologic fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In my final year of training I was selected to be Chief Resident. I have now been in private practice for 6 years with offices in Crystal Lake and Woodstock, IL.

I currently am in good standing and have hospital priviledges at Centegra Northern Illinois Mchenry Center (NIMC) on Rt. 31 and Centegra Woodstock Hospital on Doty Rd.

I take great pride in the neurologic care I provide to patients. I consider it a priviledge to care for patients and their families. Unfortunately, many patients find the medical system cumbersome and physicians offices where the wait for appointments are long. I have made it a point to ensure that new patients get access to see me within 7 days of the appointment request, often sooner. In addition I take pride in making sure diagnosis and treatments are clearly explained to patients and their families. I think good communication and understanding are the foundations for superior neurologic care.

I don't feel like I can count on them to work with me until they find a solution for my situation. They always seem like they're going to give up on me. Their office looked like the cleaning crew may have skipped a week. They answered my questions and spent a lot of time with me. I didn't feel like they were trying to rush my appointment at all. The office was easy enough to find. They are almost always unavailable. It was difficult to get an ideal appointment time that fit my schedule.

I had been recommended to Dr. Dava from my internist for my seizure disorder, which had been kept under control with medication. When meeting the Dr. for my appointment he did inform me that although he specifically treated migraines he could treat me for my disorder as I seemed under control. He refilled my long term medication prescription and off I went. A year later I needed to make another appointment as my medication was up for renewal and the Dr. needed to see me first. I made an appointment, to which I was 15 minutes late. The doctor did not wait for me, and left at 4pm. As my meds are low and I cannot get additional without his visit and authorization I was panicked and tried to get another appointment, but I could not miss any more work that week. Unfortunately the Dr.'s last appointments are at 4 pm. So the next week I am scheduled and before that appointment I receive a letter from the Dr. basically firing me as a patient of his. He wrote I had missed 3 appointments; I never missed an appointment but was late for the second one I had ever had with him. He wrote I was in noncompliance to his medical advice - interesting, I wonder what his records show he advised that I had not followed? And finally, he stated that I had been verbally rude and abusive to his staff. Searching my heart for the interaction I know I was panicked, and indicated I could not miss work again until next week, and asked if the doctor didn't have any after work hours. But rude and abusive, I was not. It's peculiar that this Dr. would take this action, sending a certified letter to do so. Well, I suppose it is for the best since as he indicated on my first visit, he really didn't treat Seizure disorders but only migraines.

The questions asked that dictate a star rating really did not apply to this situation. Sure it may be easy to get an appointment if your willing to miss your work to do so, but that's about it.
