Dr Shelnutt and his entire staff is wonderful. The whole process can be daunting but they are with you every step of the way! Marybeth and Tonya were always so helpful as well. At every visit they tried to get me and out quickly which shows they care about your time. He always addressed my concerns & took the time it needed to answer any questions at each visit. Because I had to have a c-section, I wanted a natural cesarean, and he got as close as possible to all my requests. I was able to see my son at the time of his arrival and hold him maybe 3 minutes after birth. My baby stayed with me from then on out, while Dr. Shelnutt, finished the c-section. I cannot express enough, what an excellent doctor he is.

This provider tried to assure me that I had no concerns based on my test results. When I didn't believe in what I was told, I sought another opinion and discovered that my test results needed further evaluation. After that, I was told that I was diagnosed with precancerous cells that based on the results indicated a highly likely transition to cervical cancer. I didn't appreciate being told to "wait and see" what happens. This provider needs to test further (trust me there are more tests that can be conclusive) and not assume that he can say that everyhing will be ok and to just wait and see what happens. Time is not on your side when it comes to cancer. Waiting too long sometimes results in a very bad outcome for the patient, not the doctor. The doctor is not the one who has to face treatment, surgery and potential death.
