My opinion is completely opposite from a few years ago. He's great UNTIL you really need help.
After TEN YEARS of never missing an appointment and being WAY too honest with him, I asked him to contact a new pain doctor who refused to treat me with opiates because I admitted I had smoked marijuana in the past. I was years past any substance abuse problems and opiates were not what I abused. I had already been on hydrocodone for several years, but fired the doctor who was prescribing it.

I made numerous attempts, but Pandya refused to speak to me on the phone. At my next appointment, I took my sister in with me. She was also his patient, nearly as long as I. I asked him why he
refused to write the note I needed since I told him *everything* about my past substance issues. He said it was just that we had not discussed it in a long time. True, because there was nothing to discuss. I was sober.
The reason I took my sister in with me was to have a witness to my attitude and demeanor. She said I did not seem angry or upset, I spoke in a calm, reasonable voice, and it was clear I only wanted an answer to a question. I made no more requests for the note, dropped the subject and continued as usual with the appointment.

Before our next appointments, we both got letters saying he was dropping us because he could "not provide the level of care required". What? Suddenly, after a decade we were BOTH too loony for him to keep seeing? What does that say about the 10 years of treatment from HIM? I guess he made us worse. And couldn't even tell us to our faces he was dropping us.

Lots of his former patients have said he is a coward and they are right. The pain doctor who wanted the note, upon being told that I had been seeing Pandya for 10 years, told me that they are very good friends. My sister had been seeing that same pain doctor for 10 years and he's a very strict one. Considering my absolute honesty (e.g. telling that I slipped and went on another crack binge), and his own ILLEGAL practices such as prescribing Ritalin to a former stimulant abuser AND giving me 3 prescriptions for it at the same time, dated one month apart. NOT legal on Schedule II meds! He also created some false paperwork so I could get therapy my insurance didn't pay for so it seemed like I was seeing him. I appreciated it, but I think that was probably Medicare fraud. I think he was just afraid I'd be just as honest with his good friend and spill his dirty secrets.

None of this was bad at all compared to what he did to my adult daughter. She was also his patient for a shorter time. She told him she had had problems with benzodiazapines (Valium, Xanax, Klonopin, etc.) He prescribed her some anyway. She told me she intended to ask him to double her dosage, so I reminded him of her issues with such meds and asked him not to give her more than she was getting. He agreed not to, but did it anyway. About 6 months later, she overdosed (NOT by accident) on the tranquilizers he prescribed along with some oxycontin and alcohol. She was in the hospital for 5 days. Upon her release, he gave her new prescriptions for more Klonopin AND oxycontin! He had no business giving her pain meds at all. She was already getting too many from another doctor. But WHAT was he thinking giving her the very same things she overdosed on? That's seriously messed up. Luckily, she went straight to inpatient rehab and dumped this quack. He could have killed her!

His long-time receptionist Louise is always a pleasure to chat with. She is such a sweetie, but also incredibly efficient. Kudos to her for keeping the office running smoothly!

I just hope my long-time opinion and former 5-star review didn't cause anyone to see him and end up suffering for it! Live and learn, I guess.

I knew I was getting top-of-the-line treatment when they told me about what they learned at the latest conference they attended, and how they were incorporating that knowledge into the practice. As soon as I walked through the door, I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. They went out of their way to make me feel special and appreciated. They went out of their way to make me feel special and respected, and were very sympathetic to my situation. I've never seen more kindness and empathy anywhere else. Not only did I find a parking spot right away, but I knew my car was safe because the spots were designated and close to the entrance. I always have the best experience every time I have an appointment here. Although I have not had much to complain about, I have noticed that they strongly adhere to the customer is always right policy and if anything goes wrong make every effort to correct the situation.
