Their office looked like the cleaning crew may have skipped a week. Their staff was kind of disappointing. They weren't overly rude, but they weren't helpful. They didn't listen to anything I had to say! Whenever I tried to get a word in, they either interrupted me or cut me off before I could finish.My mother underwent colostomy surgery for colon cancer at Boca Raton Community Hospital around May 8th 2010. Her primary physician was Dr. Andrew Ross, and he and his operating room staff left 3 feet of gauze in her prior to suturing her up. One month later, after such time as this could have killed her, a wound specialist discovered the packing that was left in her. Still now, my mother has drainage and infection and must have her wound packed daily due to the amount of leakage iand the size of the wound in this area. Dr. Ross and the Boca Raton Community Hospital both know about this, yet no one has called to apologize or offer restitution. We are currently consulting with an attorney in VA where my mother is under the care of her two daughters from this gross malpractice. We continue to receive and pay bills to Ross and Boca Hospital for this surgery and have contacted the Florida Department of Health regarding this matter. Several media outlets in the Fort Lauderdale area have also called us to investigate this malpractice and air reports regarding it. We have several pictures and forms of documentation from wound specialist and doctors both in Florida and Virginia regarding the ongoing issues related to this. In short, my mother cannot even sit because of the wound left from this gross negligence. He is a cold, incompetent doctor. Stay far away!!
