We were on vacation when my daughter, 4 years old, was injured and needed stitches. We had no wait at all. Dr. Stieg was amazing with her. Great bedside manner. He also put us at ease very quickly and explained everything very well. I highly recommend him

Steig should not be allowed to practice surgery. I had the unfortunate experience of seeing Dr. Steig at the ER after sustaining severe burns on my foot in a cooking accident. Although he was extremely rude and chastised me for believing what i read online (i visited webmd and tried to educate myself about the burn and the infection of the burn prior to going to the ER at 3 am; i had mentioned that i thought the burn was infected based on what i had read), that isn't why i am taking the time to write this review.

What bears mentioning, and why i would caution anyone from ever using Dr. Steig is that to he removed the blister (which covered the entirety of my left foot) by literally ripping it off with his bare hands. He did this without warning and without any pain medication. He proceeded to rip the new skin from my foot where it met the dead skin from the blister. It was excruciatinly painful and the most disturbing part was it didn't need to be. He could have provided pain medication and he could have used to scissors to cut the dead skin away.

Upon leaving, Stieg prescribed me oxycodone and rambled on for 5 minutes about how i could take his prescription and sell it on OBT for alot of money, which was more time that he had spoken in my entire encounter with him. It was odd to me why he would waste his breath speaking of things that are silly and unimportant when that time would have better spent explaining to me what he was going to do, asking about my burn, etc.

As you may imagine, i refused to see him again and instead chosed to go to the ORMC burn center for the my follow treatment, which was lengthy. I told them what had happened (did not name the doctor) and they were shocked and said that burns should not be debrided in that way.

It is a real shame that i had to go through such unnecessaritly painful experience. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy. Like the other review, i have referred to him as a "Butcher" to other people i have shared my experience with. I also pulled the last three years of a large pledge to Florida Hospital because of this experience.
