The doctor paid close attention to me and all of my questions were answered. The office staff was friendly enough, but didn't go out of their way to help me. I was very satisfied with my visit. The office was easy enough to find. Unfortunately, I didn't ask all the questions I had planned, due to temporary forgetfulness - a result of suffering general shock from learning how invasive the procedure will be. So, I have to schedule a phone call to try and get my remaining questions answered. I don't know how easy or difficult that will be. I haven't had the procedure yet ( abdominal reconstructive surgery to repair multiple incisional hernias caused by previous surgeries, so this review is based on only one office consultation. The procedure I am about to undertake will be done along with a plastic surgeon - Dr. David Zabel of Newark/Wilmington, Delaware - AND Dr. Conway working together). I am told that there are only 4 teams such as the team of Conway & Zabel doing this kind of complex hernia repair work in the US. I am also told two of these groups do not accept smokers as candidates for this procedure due to apparent issues with nicotine perhaps restricting small blood vessels' ability to circulate blood in skin tissue after unneeded surface scar tissue from previous surgeries is removed by the plastic surgeon. Dr. Zabel told me his team has not yet arrived at the point of refusing to perform such procedures on smokers, but may in the future.
