I have been a patient of Dr. Milton for a couple of years now. Not been the greatest of experiences with her, but I am better on my medical protocol.
Many of the things that I have been seeing on these critiques are true. So I won't bother to repeat them.
My biggest issue with her is that her ability in the area of psycho-pharmacology is very low. I asked her about the vivid and scary dreams I started having. I asked if Lamictal had that side effect. She firmly and wholeheartedly stated "no, that is not a side affect". I googled it. Yup. Lucid, vivid scary dreams are a side effect. Posted by hundreds of patients taking that medication. Really Dr. Milton?
I do my own research, I have a friend who is a neuro psychologist who helps me and I tell Dr. Milton which medications I want and what dosage I need to take. I just listen to her boast about how fantastic she thinks she is and just smile and nod my head. She takes my insurance. I have never had a problem with that.
So, until I find someone else that takes insurance I am stuck with her.
Patients need to self advocate with any doctor. I never just follow whatever a DR. tells me without researching it myself first. Especially in the area of Brain Chemistry.
If she is running late I reschedule. I won't wait more than 30 minutes for any doctor. My time is just as valuable, if not more, than theirs.

When she's late, i just reschedule.

Dr. Milton, at one time, was very insightful into what was going on with me, though she was ALWAYS late. 45 minutes wait was the norm; in fact good. But then things changed and it seemed to be she became very arrogant, acting very unprofessionally, by repeatedly taking personal, non-emergency phone calls during our sessions (making dinner plans, speaking with a gardner!!) and even though I mentioned this was bothersome to me, it didn't stop. When she started cancelling our previously scheduled sessions to go to the Hollywood Bowl, and telling me about it, I stopped seeing her.
