If it was not for Dr. Rangel stepping in to refer us to the services my husband required, my husband would not have lasted a month. Dr. Rangel called me with an appointment he had made for my husband. He is a warm, compassionate practitioner who truly cares for the patient and their family. I was referred to Dr. Rangel by personal friend who is a family practice physician when I became very ill with colon cancer and needed immediate surgery. I saw Dr. Rangel for a second opinion and decided I wanted him to do the surgery. He did such a skillful job - beyond what most surgeons would have been capable of - that I did not need chemo afterwards. He is the surgeon many Santa Monica doctors send their families too and I would not hesitate to recommend him. As far as his "bedside manner" goes, he is warm and gentlemanly in the old world sense.
