SHIPPEL, Dr. Ronald M. The family of Dr. Ronald M. Shippel sadly announces his death at his Marina Del Rey, CA, home on Monday, December 10, 2007. He was born and raised in South Africa and received his education at the University of Capetown and the Royal College of Surgeons, London, England. After emigrating to the United States, he settled in the Los Angeles area and became a highly respected urologist. He was a real mensch- always putting other people before himself - whether it was his family, friends, or patients. Everyone loved Ron's great sense of humor - he always had the best jokes. Ron and Judy shared each other's love of traveling, movies, reading, entertaining friends and their precious time at the beach. As a long-time member of Oakmont Country Club, he will be sadly missed by all of his golf buddies. Mourning his loss are his wife Judy, daughters Alexandra, Natalie, and Ava Jones, his daughter Anne Levitz and family of Johannesburg, South Africa, his son Rabbi John Shippel and family of New York, his brother Dr. Alan Shippel and family of Atlanta, Georgia, seven grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
