Both Dr. Joseph Chang and Dr. Daniel Chang enjoy spending time with patients, helping each person to understand their conditions and the treatment, so they can participate in their own care. Founded in 1998 by Dr. James D. Shuler, M.D., F.A.C.S., Empire Eye and Laser Center been serving Kern County for over a decade. In 2008, this landmark practice came under the stewardship of long-time associate, Dr. Joseph H. Chang, M.D. With a continual commitment to quality improvement, Dr. Joseph Chang is Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA. Dr. Chang also brought on his brother, Dr. Daniel H. Chang, M.D., a fellowship-trained sub-specialist in the surgical correction of vision through cataract, refractive (including LASIK and PRK), and corneal surgery. Dr. Daniel Chang is a sought after speaker on his research and development in the ophthalmology field.Both Dr. Joseph Chang and Dr. Daniel Chang enjoy spending time with patients, helping each person to understand their conditions and the treatment, so they can participate in their own care.
