TLC HealthCare™ Wound Specialists, in conjunction with the Wound Care Center at Northwest Hospital, utilizes the most current best practices for effective wound treatment. Clinicians focus on pressure ulcers, vascular ulcers and diabetic wounds, along with chronic or palliative, non-healing wounds. The individual needs and goals of each patient are considered in determining the course of treatment.

The TLC HealthCare™ Wound Specialists provide education to patients, staff and family members regarding preventative measures and the expectations for healing, especially for patients with multiple co-morbid diagnoses. Wound care education is provided to our affiliates in the community as requested.

Services We have added ultrasound debridement to our modalities available to the care of the wounds. Our patients are eager to request this technology as the level of pain is considerably much less than sharp debridement. Additional benefits include faster debridements, ability to reach difficult locations and bioburden reduction in the wound bed. We have partnered with the Misonix Corporation with the use of the SonicOne® device. We are the first center in Southern Arizona to have this important technology in our armamentarium.

Second, we now have available Total Contact Casting, the gold standard for the care of the diabetic foot ulcer. This offers the eligible patient the best opportunity for off-loading in order to heal the diabetic ulcer. We are using technology called TCC-EZ® developed by the MedEfficiency Corporation.

Third, we are able to assess our patients with lower extremity wounds for vascular screening directly in the center by testing skin perfusion pressures and pulse volume recordings. This allows us to determine if we can compress the lower extremities safely and/or whether the patient requires further vascular assessments with specialists. The technology we utilize is the Sensilase® recorder by the Vasamed Corporation.

Fourth, we have expanded the use of the hyperbaric technology to a wide array of disease states that have included diabetic ulcers, osteomyelitis, radiation injuries, failed grafts, and radionecrosis of the jaw.

Fifth, we have expanded our use of growth factor technology with the use of two novel products that include Oasis®, which is freeze-dried pig intestine; and Apligraf®, live, laboratory grown tissue. With the appropriate wound, we are able to expose the wound to the important growth factor and matrix that enhance and propel wound healing for our patients.

Billing service which is contracted to Sunbelt Medical Management in Tucson is impossible to reach by phone. You will then realize there is no one to contact at TLC Healthcare Wound Specialists to help get your billing questions resolved. Northwest Wound Center is of no use because they contract out the Clinician services to TLC Healthcare Wound Specialists which is the company Dr. Scott Bolhack bills his services under. I have been trying to contact someone for over 4 weeks to no avail.

I was sent to this physician and the Wound Center at Northwest Hospital by my primary care physician. This was a blessing. I had been dealing with my leg ulcer for months, saw several doctors (including one who claimed to be a specialist in wounds) without healing. After ten weeks, my ulcer was completely healed. The entire staff there is knowledgeable and helpful. This is the best place to go if you have wound issues.
