I am on medicaid & I have been seeing Dr. Jariwala since January 2009. I really liked him at first, but then I kept having colds & he seems to not be able to treat me with any relieve of being sick all the time. I am 24 yrs old & since January I have saw him more than 10 times. I also have a history of headaches & have saw him for this with absolutely no help. If my antibiotic or any medicine he prescribed isn't working then I have to make another appointment, even if I just saw him the week before. I called his office one time because my medicine wasn't working & he told me that it was okay, that I didn't need it if it didn't work & to stop taking it. This doctor is a joke! I told him at my last visit that I have never been to the doctor so much in my entire life. A member of his staff told me personaly that he performs unnecassary test for the money. He tried two medicines on me & niether one worked so he tells me there is nothing else to try. This doctor really needs to be looked into. I am switching doctors asap. It bothers me that there are doctors out there like this.

I have not personally been a patient of Dr. Jariwala, but accompanied my Aunt to the emergency room. She was later emitted to St. Vincent’s St Clair hospital where Dr. Jariwala was the attending doctor assigned to her. There were no issues with her care, until upon discharge. Since my aunt is low income and is without insurance, my father was called to Dr. Jariwala’s office upon her hospital discharge. My father was handed a doctor bill, which he left with to turn over to his brother (whom is handling her financial affairs until everything is resolved). Dr. Jariwala apparently thought he wasn’t going to get paid for her treatment, so he had his assistant, Melissa, call the pharmacy and cancel all prescriptions he had placed earlier. My father was made aware of this when he arrived at the Pharmacy to pick up her prescriptions. This occurred on 04/17/2009. My aunt had been hospitalized from having strokes and seizures as the result of severe diabetes problems. I was made aware of the situation and promptly visited St. Vincent’s St Clair hospital with the intent of obtaining her medication. The hospital staff was highly professional with dealing with this issue and within 2 hours, her prescriptions were called in by Dr. Jariwala. I filed a complaint against the doctor through the hospital and hope that the hospital administrator’s take disciplinary actions against Dr. Jariwala. Dr. Jariwala received a check for the amount of $436 from the family to pay for my aunt’s doctor bill the following week.
Not only are his actions appalling, but they are against the law.
